Our Ingredients
In collaboration with skin care specialists, we have formulated body butter for healing, nourishing, and revitalizing all skin types.
Most lotions contain water as their number one ingredient. Because of the water they need synthetic waxes, stabilizers and parabens (because water can harbor bacteria very easily). In order to mask these ingredients, synthetic fragrance and perfumes are added which often times contain phthalates. Although you may smell good, the actual hydration, prevention, and healing of your skin is slim to none, and could be doing more harm to your health than you may think.
Our body butters are tried and true for skin healing with a handful of simple ingredients you can pronounce and more than likely have heard of. In fact, most of the ingredients are found in kitchens around the world. That’s right! Our base of butters and oils are safe enough to eat (but don’t)! If you care about what you put into your body, you should also be aware of what goes onto your body. After all, skin is the largest organ of the body!
Although, we have MANY customers that absolutely LOVE the smell of our lotion, we can understand scent is an extremely personal taste. The essential oils we choose are for specific reasons of skin healing, and the fact that we can get it to smell as good as it does, is a BONUS! We ask you treat Royal Butters as an every-day moisturizer and potential healer and not so much as a “smell-good” cream (although chances are you’ll be as hooked as we are)!
Take a look at some of our ingredients, why we choose them, and how they ACTUALLY hydrate, nourish, and heal your skin.
ORGANIC COCOA BUTTER:
Cocoa butter locks in moisture at a deeper level of the skin. In order for skin to regrow tissue (much like any living thing) it needs to be well hydrated. Cocoa butter acts as both an emollient and a barrier to hold in that moisture, and allow the rest of the ingredients to do their job, creating the perfect environment for treatment of scars.
ORGANIC SHEA BUTTER:
Shea butter adds collagen and has been proven to increase cellular turnover. In its raw form it contains vitamin E, vitamin A, essential fatty acids, and many other skin healing and strengthening compounds. Skin with an ample amount of collagen is typically strong, supple, and allows skin to stretch and retract due to causes such as weight or muscle gain or loss , pregnancy, medication use and other situations where the skin may be stretched and/or retracted.
ORGANIC COCONUT OIL:
Coconut oil contains compounds that reduce the appearance of scars and marks, and has been linked to their removal as well. It is high in Vitamin E which prevents skin tears, strengthens cells, and relieves itchy, dry, and irritated skin often associated with pregnancy or certain environmental factors.
ORGANIC OLIVE OIL:
Olive oil has been used for 100’s of years as a natural preservative and is known to be natural antioxidant. Along with having extreme moisturizing power, it is jam packed with antioxidants. Olive oil not only provides moisture but creates a barrier which virtually eliminates the chances of bacteria growing in an all natural product.
ORGANIC VITAMIN E OIL:
Vitamin E increases nutrients in the skin tissue, creating an effective way to help with stretch marks. It has been shown to eliminate scars and mark and helps the body use its own cells to create firmness and more elasticity in the skin. It's said to be one of the best and most effective methods of skin healing due to the vitamin's ability to help your body regenerate new and stronger skin cells at the deepest level.
ORGANIC FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL:
Known as "the king of oils", Frankincense oil is useful for skin health, and can help treat dry skin, reverse signs of aging and reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars. Other pregnancy benefits of frankincense oil are mostly attributed to its anti-inflammatory, astringent, antiseptic, disinfectant, digestive, diuretic and expectorant properties.
ORGANIC ROSEHIP ESSENTIAL OIL:
Rose hip oil can heal skin by speeding up the process of skin regeneration. It contains fatty acids and vitamin C, and Vitamin A, which helps to regenerate damaged skin tissues. Overall, the anti-sclerotic properties make it ideal for diminishing scars and marks.
